"Indians in Aviation" Annual Showing

Every year surrounding Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, the MAAIM shows the movie "Indians in Aviation" to honor those who served our country during World War II. "Indians in Aviation" describes the experience of American Indians coming to Wichita during World War II to build aircraft for the war effort. The movie connects that experience to the community built around it, resulting in the diverse culture in Wichita today.​​

Tours for Chores

This is a program created for groups of 10 or more, age 13 and up during our spring, summer, and fall seasons. Groups can volunteer their time helping the MAAIM with assorted needed tasks, and in return, they receive a tour through our museum. We have a limited number of opportunities for this free volunteer/tour option.​​​

Keeper of the Dreams

Keeper of the Dreams is a free ambassador/educational outreach program that the Indian Museum created in partnership with the 2013 Kansas Teacher of the Year, Dyane Smokorowski. It includes interactive American Indian themed activities for teachers, students and parents. The little stuffed Keeper is intended to travel the globe and give everyone who participates the chance to share their dreams and stories. The goal of the program is to use Wichita's rich cultural heritage as a way to promote literacy and cultural awareness in classrooms around the world.​​
